Speech & Language Therapy

Personalized speech and language therapy for adults experiencing communication changes related to stroke, brain injury, progressive neurological conditions, acute illness, and other medical diagnoses. Therapy may address aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia of speech, voice changes, and other difficulties that affect a person’s ability to express themselves or be understood. Paige works with you to identify your priorities and real-life communication goals, then tailors therapy to your abilities, needs, and everyday routines.

SPEAK OUT!® Therapy

The SPEAK OUT!® Therapy Program, developed by the nonprofit Parkinson Voice Project®, is a research-based program designed to help people with Parkinson's and related disorders regain and retain their speech and swallowing. Treatment focuses on speaking with intent and may help improve vocal volume, articulation, breath support, vocal quality, intonation, and facial expression.

As a Certified SPEAK OUT!® Provider, Paige provides individualized therapy and education designed to help clients carry stronger, more intentional communication into everyday life.

AAC Assessment & Intervention

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) can supplement or provide an alternative to natural speech when speaking alone no longer meets a person’s communication needs. Paige provides individualized AAC assessment, feature matching, equipment or system trials when appropriate, implementation, and training. AAC may include low-tech communication strategies as well as high-tech speech-generating systems. The goal is not simply to provide a device, but to help you and your communication partners successfully incorporate AAC into everyday conversations, activities, and environments. These services may be available in Paige’s Jonesville office, in your home when appropriate, or through telehealth when clinically appropriate.

Cognitive-Communication Therapy

Practical therapy addressing attention, memory, organization, problem-solving, executive function, and other cognitive skills that affect everyday communication and daily life.

Swallowing Assessment & Therapy

Paige provides assessment, education, and individualized intervention for adults experiencing changes or difficulties with eating and drinking. Care may include education, compensatory strategies, therapeutic exercises when clinically appropriate, and recommendations based on your specific swallowing needs. Recommendations are made with attention to safety, comfort, and quality of life, and may include guidance about when services are best provided in person, in your home, or through telehealth when clinically appropriate.

Group Therapy & Communication Programs

Paige Speech & AAC offers small-group therapy and communication programs that give participants opportunities to practice skills, connect with others experiencing similar communication challenges, and apply communication strategies in a supportive environment. Programs may include aphasia groups, SPEAK OUT!® Classes, and other specialized communication groups based on client needs and availability. Depending on the program, groups may be offered in Paige’s Jonesville office or through telehealth. Group offerings, locations, and schedules may vary.
